My research addresses the central question of how to represent domain knowledge in a way that allows computers to interpret and to manipulate it as humans would do. My contributions concern the modeling of business know-how with formal approaches and incorporating context-awareness. They address the specification, integration and exploitation of business knowledge in intelligent environments.

The application domains range from BIM (Building Information Modelling) to user profiling, including approaches for semantic interoperability applied to intelligent urban environments, GIS (Geospatial Information Systems) and disaster management.

ANR McBIM (Communicating Matter for BIM)

I am the leader of the UBFC team involved in the ANR McBIM project.The goals pursued are multiple and aim at defining the model and the data to be exchanged between a connected concrete beam and the overall BIM system and actors. Our tasks concern:

  1. The definition of the a minima knowledge model necessary for ensuring interoperability among the different actors,
  2. The mapping of the required concrete data to concepts in the IFC standard (IFC4.1),
  3. The development and implementation of efficient and secure exchanges among actors

The UBFC team for this project includes Dominique GINHAC (PR) and Wahabou ABDOU (MCF).

DATAVIEW

This project follows the findings of the French plan for BIM standardization BIM (Plan Transition Numérique Bâtiment, Feuille de route Normalisation, June 2018), to which I participated as an expert. This plan identified Semantic Web and Linked Data as “the only technical solution for the connection and interaction of heterogenous data as manipulated in a BIM project". Thus, the goal pursued in the context of the DATAVIEW project adresses the implementation of ontology federation approaches for urban data management and modelling.

I-SITE UBFC HERMES

This project addresses theoretical issues related to 4D design combined with Semantic Web technologies.
